Funny Car Young Gun Blake Alexander Returning at Dallas

Blake Alexander will continue his Funny Car journey this season at the AAA Texas Fall Nationals. The race, contested Oct. 15-18 at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas, is the first event in which Alexander will compete since his semifinal finish in Gainesville in March.

Alexander and Paul Smith have advanced past the first round of competition at the last three events they have entered and will look to continue their streak in Dallas.

“We are excited to unveil the new Monroe Shocks/National Pronto Association livery on our Dodge Charger Funny Car.” said Alexander. “Racing in this event holds a lot of meaning to me and the guys since this is where I got my license when I was a junior in college. It also will hold a new special meaning as the National Pronto Associations Headquarters’ is located nearby in Grapevine, Texas. I want to first thank Monroe Shocks for helping us lay a foundation for the program we hope to build in the future.”

Alexander’s car will also celebrate Monroe’s nationwide Shocktober, which runs through Oct. 31 and allows customers to get four shocks for the price of three by way of Visa gift card rebate.

“Blake and I have been working on developing the promotional side of this program and the event in Ennis, TX is a great step forward. We are pleased to partner with Blake, his team and his other great sponsors to make this happen. Our Pronto members are all NHRA fans and are very excited for the opportunity to be involved in this program.” said Robert Roos, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for National Pronto Association.

Despite the added pressure to perform after a seven-month long layoff, Alexander is excited and noted, “Paul and I have something unique despite a 40-year age gap existing between us. We believe in each other and collaborate well with a common goal of winning on Sunday. I’m blessed to be able to continue working with so many great people. I look forward to jumping back in the seat shortly for all my partners both old and new.”

Associate sponsorships for Blake Alexander also include Bexar Waste, Gates Belts, and Dynomax Exhaust.
