This weekend at the 40th annual NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish, the Chevrolet Camaro driven by Norwalk winner Cory Reed has a bit of flair, and with very good reason. His KB Titan Racing-powered Pro Stock car features a multi-faceted, distinct design aimed at raising awareness for both childhood and ovarian cancer, two causes very near to his heart.
Reed’s young son Theo completed chemotherapy this summer, and his aunt, Anita Strasburg, is currently undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer.

In their honor, Reed’s J&A Service entry is adorned with a gold ribbon down the driver’s side and a teal ribbon along the other, the gold to represent Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and teal spotlighting Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. September is the designated month for both, and Reed hopes that the small gesture will catch eyes and inspire hearts to make a difference in the lives of others.
“The purpose behind it is to bring awareness, and if seeing it on my car drives people to learn more about it, donate, or help in some form, that’s great,” said Reed. “If it helps in any way, that’s what it’s all about.”
Reed and the rest of the KB Titan Racing NHRA Pro Stock team are in the midst of a pair of qualifying sessions on Friday at Maple Grove Raceway, with two more set for Saturday to set the field for eliminations at the 40th annual NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish.
