The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division, rolled into Auto Club Famoso Dragstrip for Race 5 of the 2025 season, where some of the West Coast’s toughest competitors squared off for Wally trophies under warm Central Valley skies.
Chad Webber outlasted the Super Comp field with sharp lights and consistency at the stripe to claim the coveted win. In Super Gas, veteran racer Val Torres showed his trademark poise, adding another Bakersfield victory to his long résumé. James Brown proved strong in Super Street, closing out the weekend with a solid final-round performance.
In Competition Eliminator, Kevin Carter worked his way through a tough ladder to earn the class title. Evan Kowalski was the driver to beat in Super Stock, while Parker Theobald emerged victorious in Stock Eliminator.
Fast doorslammers also had their turn in the spotlight, with Carl Hagen capturing Top Sportsman honors. Andy Spiegal lit the win light in Top Dragster after a weekend of tight racing in one of the fastest categories on the property. On two wheels, Lindsey Miller rode to the Sportsman Motorcycle win, showing speed and precision throughout eliminations.
With Race 5 now in the books, the Division 7 action continues at Famoso Dragstrip with Race 6, kicking off Saturday, September 27. Fans and racers alike are set for another weekend of intense side-by-side competition in Bakersfield.
