On the heels of his monumentally successful $50,100-to-win Lights Out 7 event at South Georgia Motorsports Park in late February, drag radial mega-promoter Donald “Duck” Long is once again swinging for the fences.
“In February we put up $50,100 for the winner of PTC Radial vs. World,” says Long. “Come October 9th, 2016, under the lights at South Georgia Motorsports Park, we’re going to put $55,100 in the hands of the baddest radial racer in the world. No checks, no false promises or monopoly money – $55,100 cash money.”
Long expressed that the outpouring of sponsor interest and support in the wake of Lights Out 7 has bordered on overwhelming, but was a sure sign of DuckX Productions two annual events striking a chord with the masses.
“The support we’ve had over the years from the racing industry is something that I don’t take lightly,” continued Long. “It’s humbling to have all these great people and great companies want to be involved with what we’re doing for radial racing. What’s really crazy is the amount of new interest we’ve had since Lights Out 7; it kind of lets you know that you’re making an impact and that people are paying attention. These radial racers have deserved everyone’s attention since day one – that’s why we started this whole deal. Well, I think we’ve got it.
“None of it would be possible without our sponsors, though,” continued Long. “You know you have PTC, which has supported Radial vs. World since the beginning, but we also have a bunch of great people and bonus sponsors for No Mercy 7 including, Nick D’Agostino at Wiseco Pistons, Roger Conley at Precision Turbo & Engine, the team at Bad9er Racing and Alepa Racing, Grant McCreary and Rick Thornton at Fast Forward Innovations, FuelTech, Pro Line Racing Engines, Schoneck Composites, Rodney Massengale at RPM Transmissions and Wachs Services’ David Lindsey.”
DuckX Production’s No Mercy 7 is slated for October 6th – 9th, 2016, at South Georgia Motorsports Park.
“Hope everyone stays safe during these next 205 days of unofficial testing,” concluded Long. “There’ll be tens of thousands of people in South Georgia and a couple million watching online that’ll be pretty disappointed if you can’t make it because you tore your stuff up beforehand.
“And I’m in the process of reaching out to all our awesome Ultra Street, 275 and Leaf Spring racers to see what we can do to grow those classes as well – more money to win, paying back more, etc.”
